This is just a quick entry. One evening recently, just before Mr F had to go off for a night shift, we decided to go for a drink. I wanted alcohol. He wasn’t allowed any, but he’s not much of a drinker anyway. Plus I didn’t want to go too far so we went to the Pacific Tiki Bar. I have reviewed this place before on here and it is one of my favourite places to go in Partick. I had already eaten at home, but Mr F hadn’t and so he decided to get a burger. I have to admit I have never had one of their burgers because their Thai food is so good.
I noticed they had a new cocktail menu and helped myself to a Royal Bermuda yacht club (£7) with rum, triple sec, lime juice and falernum it was fresh and zesty on a warm evening with just the right amount of sweetness for me and boy did it have a kick as do all the cocktails at this place.
He ordered the Umami Beef burger without bacon (£11.95) and not to be left out I ordered a side of mac and cheese (£3.50) as I had already had dinner. His burger included a beef patty, portobello mushroom, togarashi mayo, sundried tomato confit and smoked gouda. I can see why it’s called the umami burger. He loved it and was happy that I suggested the place as he hadn’t been before. I however didn’t get a taste. I will let him off though, it was eaten quickly as he needed to get to work and he was enjoying it.
The mac and cheese was yummy, it was somehow ridiculously creamy so I dread to think of the calories in that little pot! Was worth it though. MMMMM cheese!
As usual the service was great as was the atmosphere. I overheard that the guy sitting on the table next to us had just moved to the area and it was his first time in the Pacific. I hope they gained themselves another new loyal customer.
